Magaziner, Amo Encourage Rhode Islanders Hurt by Trump / Musk Actions to Share Their Stories in New Online Portal
PROVIDENCE, RI — Today, Representatives Seth Magaziner (RI-02) and Gabe Amo (RI-01) announced the launch of a new online portal where Rhode Islanders can share their stories about how they have been impacted by Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s reckless federal layoffs and cuts to vital programs and funding.
Rhode Islanders hurt by recent Trump Administration policies can now share their story at democraticleader.house.gov/shareyourstory. Magaziner, Amo, and House Democrats will use these firsthand accounts to hold the administration accountable and protect the services Rhode Islanders rely on.
“Trump and Musk’s reckless actions are hurting Rhode Islanders - costing jobs, cutting services, and creating chaos,” said Magaziner. “If you or your organization have been impacted, share your story today. Your voice matters, and it helps us fight to hold Trump and Musk accountable and protect the working people of Rhode Island.”
“Our strategy to fight back against the Trump administration’s illegal power grabs includes legislation, litigation, and perhaps most importantly, mobilization,” said Amo. “By sharing and spreading the stories of the human cost of Trump’s funding freeze, Elon Musk’s DOGE crew, and other harmful decisions, we’ll continue to build public pressure to put a stop to their chaos and confusion. I encourage anyone personally affected to submit their story.”
As part of this effort, Reps. Magaziner and Amo are seeking stories from Rhode Islanders directly impacted by the Trump administration’s actions, including but not limited to:
- Federal employees who have been laid off or had their work disrupted.
- Nonprofits and other organizations facing stop-work orders or uncertainty about federal funding.
- Researchers whose projects have been cut off or face uncertainty due to Trump’s funding clawbacks.
