Last week, I was one of eight recreational fishermen who met with U.S. Rep. Seth Magaziner and his staff in Warwick to talk about habitat, fish and recreational fishing. We also met with U.S. Senator Jack Reed’s staff in Cranston, which we have done a number of times along with meetings with U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Representative Seth Magaziner (RI-02) spoke on the House Floor to condemn House Republicans’ proposed cuts to education funding in the FY24 Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill. In Rhode Island, these cuts will eliminate access to Head Start for 200 children and remove up to 800 teachers from classrooms serving low-income students.

Parker, calling on the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to assess current sanitation standards and to evaluate the extent to which workers have adequate access to bathroom facilities.

Washington, DC – U.S. Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse and U.S. Representative Seth Magaziner today announced $3.8 million in federal funding through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Port Infrastructure Development Program (PIDP) to construct a ramp at the Port of Davisville’s Pier 1 to accommodate stern offload roll-on/roll-off (ro-ro) vessels that carry automobiles and other wheeled cargo.
